TakeDat (No Diddy) – Gucci Mane
In a surprise move that’s got the internet buzzing, Atlanta’s own Gucci Mane dropped a fiery diss track this week, setting his sights on music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. Titled “TakeDat,” the song features a relentless refrain of “No Diddy,” a clear reference to the recent wave of sexual assault allegations swirling around Diddy.
Gucci Mane doesn’t hold back, turning Diddy’s own signature catchphrase “Take That” on its head and peppering the lyrics with scathing remarks. He even throws shade at Diddy’s past, referencing a lawsuit filed by his ex Cassie that accuses him of some seriously petty vandalism – destroying Kid Cudi’s car in a jealous rage, if the rumors are true.
The music video itself adds another layer of mockery, parodying iconic scenes from The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Big Poppa” video, which prominently featured Diddy himself alongside his then-girlfriend Misa Hylton. But Gucci doesn’t stop there – the track also throws playful (or maybe not-so-playful) jabs at other hip-hop heavyweights like Drake, 50 Cent, 2Pac, and Yung Miami.
Interestingly, 50 Cent himself reposted the video on his Instagram, seemingly giving Gucci’s diss his stamp of approval. The internet, unsurprisingly, has latched onto the “No Diddy” phrase, with social media exploding with memes and commentary in the wake of the allegations. While Diddy has vehemently denied everything, calling them “outrageous” attempts at a quick buck, Gucci Mane has delivered a potent diss track that throws gasoline on the fire of Diddy’s current controversies.
