KENDRICK LAMAR morphs into Pop Culture icon in ‘THE HEART PART 5’ VIDEO
Directed by Dave Free and Kendrick Lamar, Kendrick has finally delivered a new video and single for “The Heart Part 5” from his forthcoming album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers and his last album release for Top Dawg Entertainment.
Kendrick made the announcement via Twitter just before his long-awaited fifth studio album drops, with a first-week projection increase to 400,000 expecting to debut at No. 1 in the U.S.

The video visual begins with the quote, “I am. All Of Us.” Kendrick’s face morphs into pop culture figures such as OJ Simpson, Jussie Smollett, and Kobe Bryant, also including other iconic figures such as Will Smith, Nipsey Hussle, and Kanye West.

The lyrics often align with the person he resembles; the track samples the classic 1976 Marvin Gaye song, “I Want You.” Kendrick recently hinted at Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, being a double album release by sharing a picture of two CDs on his website.
One CD appears to have been marked with “Morale” while the other reads “Steppers.” The last time Lamar released an installment in his series of singles titled “The Heart” was in 2017 with Part 4. The new project is expected to drop Friday (May 13). Until then, make sure to check out the video.
