R. Kelly has reportedly been moved to general population in prison, according to prosecutors.

After weeks of complaining about the circumstances of his incarceration, the R&B singer’s location has changed. He awaits trial on sexual abuse-related charges.

Prosecutors are denying Kelly’s attorney’s claims that he’s been held in solitary confinement against his will and even said he had previously refused a move into general population when it was offered.

“If I go to population … I’m just up on everybody and everybody’s up on me, and I’m trying to figure out how to trust that or whatever,” Kelly reportedly said during a July 19 phone call, eight days after his arrest. “You know, and that’s why, I was like, hmmm, too many people up on you and I done seen too many movies, you know, and it’s just, and then I’m so popular here, it’s like yeah man,” Kelly continued.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Kelly’s attorney Steven Greenberg, says the general population move was the result of “ongoing” discussions about easing Kelly’s confinement restrictions.

“We filed a motion with the court, and the jail took the appropriate action and moved him,” he said.

R. Kelly has been held without bond at the Metropolitan Correctional Center since July 11, when federal agents arrested him while he was walking his dog outside his home in Trump Tower.
